Harvest Hill STEAM Academy

Harvest Hill STEAM Academy

Winchester, California

The Middle School Building Addition to WLC’s recently completed Harvest Hills STEAM Academy will be the first two-story structure in the fast growing Menifee Union School District. The building will convert the existing K-5 Campus into MUSD’s first K-8 School. MUSD was fortunate to have purchased 3 additional acres to the east of the original school. This ‘excess’ property will be used to relocate the staff parking lot and bus loop, making room for the new Middle School Addition, and allowing the new wing to connect internally with the remainder of the fully enclosed campus.

The New Building’s ground floor will house STEM Labs, Science Labs, and PE Locker Rooms. The second floor will house middle school academic classrooms. Exterior instructional patios flank each of the labs, while the second floor features collaborative pull-out centers and dedicated project rooms.

The architecture of the New Addition draws its cues from WLC’s original campus. The second floor mass extrudes up through the center of the building offering a slightly more contemporary flair in an effort to call attention to the science-based magnet program.
